This is a full time position. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and some overnights. The Adventure Specialist role at Chrysalis is multifaceted, required unusual flexibility, and a specialized skill set in the area of outdoor recreation and education.

General Summary: Monitors and cares for the physical and emotional needs of Chrysalis' students during traditional sleeping hours. (9:45pm-6:45am).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Completes bed checks every hour.
2. Ensures that each student is safe and is in her assigned bed.
3. Assists students who are ill or who are otherwise having difficulty.
4. Remains alert and awake at all times.
5. Completes household chores as assigned.
6. Punctuality and dependability are essential.
7. Other duties assigned for record upkeep for internal and state regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of student rules, and level requirements.
2. Knowledge of Chrysalis' policies, found in the training manual. (Provided at new hire orientation.)
3. Knowledge of proper charting procedure.
4. Skill in problem solving.
5. Skill in de-escalating agitated students.
6. Ability to perform CPR and First-Aid.
7. Ability to safely hold or restrain an upset or combative student.
8. Ability to operate the security system for the house.
Education and Experience:
The position requires a valid driver's license. Staff must be 21 or older to transport students in company vehicles. Solid reference information from at least two previous employers is a must. Experience working with at risk youth and/or post high school training in the field of mental health is preferred but not required.

Job Title: Adventure Therapist

Department: Adventure General Summary: Adventure Therapists are direct-care staff working in and out of the Residential setting, specializing in direct-care through a clinical lens. Approximately 25 hours Residential and 15 hours Adventure based, per week with flex hours available. Includes Clinical Supervision with the Clinical Director to quickly count towards Licensure requirements.
This position works under the Adventure Manager, and in collaboration with the Residential Manger of the assigned house to effectively provide quality care and supervision for students. Is part of the Adventure team and will lead on and off campus outdoor activities to spur personal growth and group development in students. May be assigned to other trips, including canoeing, backpacking, rafting or biking trips. Welcomes new graduates and/or interns, Masters and above level graduates working towards licensure in Clinical Mental Health, Marriage and Family, or Social Work.
