Pay: $43,000 - $50,000 per year, DOE

Full-Time, onsite

Chrysalis is seeking a creative and compassionate Art/Vocational Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. This individual will design and deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in both visual arts and vocational skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering students through artistic expression and practical skill-building, while supporting their therapeutic growth and individualized education plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach a curriculum in visual arts (drawing, painting, ceramics, etc.) and vocational subjects (woodworking, crafts, design, or life skills).

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for students to explore creativity and build confidence.

  • Integrate social-emotional learning and therapeutic principles into classroom activities.

  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff, direct care mentors, and academic team members.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with IEPs or 504 Plans.

  • Maintain an organized classroom and manage materials, tools, and safety procedures.

  • Document student progress and communicate regularly with the multidisciplinary team.

  • Participate in school events, field trips, and experiential learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Required: Montana Class 1 or Class 2 Teaching License
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in art education, vocational education, or related field
  • Proven experience in teaching adolescents and classroom management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must pass federal and state background check
  • Must pass drug screening
  • Active State of Montana Driver's license
